Ioannis Vardoulakis

Dr Sarris Ernestos is an Associate Professor at the department of engineering at the Oil & Gas and Civil engineering programme of the University of Nicosia. He is the director of the petrophysics and the soil mechanics laboratories. He holds a PhD in petroleum geomechanics with applications of the hydraulic fracturing technique from the University of Cyprus. His areas of specialization are finite elements and computational fluid dynamics while his focus is on Petroleum Geomechanics which include: Petroleum related rock mechanics, hydraulic fracturing, sanding prediction and control, wellbore stability, multiphase flows with applications in CO2 geological storage, enhanced oil recovery EOR and Indentation mechanics.
